Discussion on NEV After-Sales Service System Construction

EV after-sales service differs from traditional fuel vehicles. The maintenance system is being reshaped, and improving the service network is key to brand internationalization.

New energy vehicle after-sales service is very different from traditional fuel vehicles. Due to the absence of complex mechanical structures such as engines and transmissions, EV maintenance items are significantly reduced, but electrical systems, battery maintenance, etc., have high technical requirements.

In terms of service content, EV after-sales service mainly includes: routine maintenance (mainly software updates and safety inspections), fault repair (electrical systems, battery systems, motor systems, etc.), accident repair, battery testing and maintenance, etc.

In terms of channel models, direct sales models and authorized dealer models coexist. New power brands such as Tesla and NIO adopt a direct sales model, with unified service standards but limited coverage. Traditional automakers rely more on dealer networks.

For enterprises going global, after-sales service system construction is a major challenge. Consumers in different markets have different service expectations, and local maintenance technical levels vary. Building a complete after-sales network requires substantial resources and time.

Some leading enterprises are exploring innovative after-sales service models, such as mobile service vehicles, remote diagnosis, and on-site battery testing, to improve service efficiency and user experience.

Industry insiders believe that after-sales service capability will become a key factor in brand differentiation competition. Whoever can establish an efficient, convenient, and reliable global after-sales service network will gain an advantage in international competition.
